The article examines the cases when the right to perform work and to demand the payment under a contractor agreement can be transferred to a third party. The consequences of the subcontractor's work and the consequences of the assignment of rights under the cession agreement are analyzed. The terms during which the contractor is entitled or obliged to start the work are discussed. The conditions under which the commencement of work is the contractor's right and the conditions under which it is the contractor's duty are revealed. An overview is made of the ways to perform, deliver and pay for the work: when work performance/delivery and the payment have to be done in full at one time and when it can be made stage-by-stage. The nature and conditions of the relationship between the phased delivery and acceptance and the phased payment for the work performed are noted.
