The aim of this article is to examine the images and plots of Agatha Christie’s works related to the Russian ballet. The main object of this study is an imagological aspect of her short stories «Harlequin’s Lane» (1930) and «The Arcadian Deer» (1947). This research based on the biographical method and the cultural-historical method of analysis is focused on the images of the Russian dancers and the ballet performances mentioned in these stories. The author demonstrates that Christie uses many real facts from the history of ballet art, including biographies of Tamara Karsavina, Anna Pavlova and Vatslav Nijinsky. This article explores the combination of these facts and artistic fiction. The author comes to the conclusion that the theme of the Russian ballet in Agatha Christie’s works is mystical and dramatic; this is the theme of the highest, perfect beauty, which is consonant with death.
