Today, researchers of the Russian press record a lot of attention of the central and republican media to the ethnic aspects of modern social life. Our task is to analyze the place and role of ethnic periodicals in the structure of the media in one of the most multinational constituencies of Russia, the Volga Federal District. The subject of our study is the regional press in the native languages of indigenous peoples. In the course of studying the topic, the need for special training of journalists on problems of national politics and inter-ethnic relations was revealed. The common mission of regional national publications is to disclose a multicolored palette of national cultures, traditions and the desire to develop intercultural dialogue.
