On November 3, 2017, the «Russkiy Mir» Foundation organised a round table «Pushkin’s Russian world» at the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. The importance of A. Pushkin for Russian and world literature was the main topic of discussion. The speakers discussed Pushkin’s understanding of Russian national character, sources of Pushkin’s world view, the evolution of the «two motherlands» theme in his art. Some of the talks were devoted to the perception of Pushkin’s works by the representatives of other national traditions. In this connection, the question was raised about translating Pushkin's works into different languages of the world and saving the memorial places connected with Pushkin outside Russia.
