Abstract
The article examines the reception of the ancient myth about Orpheus in the works of V. Sosnora. Three verse texts («There was a magnificent friend of mine ...», «Orpheus» and «Confessions of Daedalus») are the object of the study along with the story "Where, Medea, is your home?". The aim of this study was to identify the patterns of functioning of the Orphic myth in the work of Sosnora. The methodological basis for the analysis of specific texts is correlated with the cultural-historical, structural-typological, comparative, mythological and integrated approaches. Our study shows that despite marked differences in the artistic tasks implemented by the author in the above-mentioned texts, the patterns of the functioning of the Orphic myth in Sosnora's poetics remain unchanged. It is concluded that the ancient myth about Orpheus is organically integrated into Sosnora's poetics as a basic archetypal model rather than as an archaic element.
