The article examines the process of borrowing as a way of enrichment in the English terminological system of transportation logistics. The aim of this work is to identify the main ways of the penetration of foreign words in the terminology. The author uses the method of correlation of linguistic phenomena and factors of extralinguistic reality along with the method of quantitative analysis. Native English terms, terms with German roots and borrowings from different languages are analyzed. The most productive way of borrowing is identified. The main reasons for the penetration of the borrowings into the English terminological system of transportation logistics are presented. In the conclusion, the effectiveness of this method for the enrichment of the English terminological system of transportation logistics is shown.
