This article presents an analysis of the work of the International Scientific Conference “National Identity Through Language and Literature” and gives a summary of the materials presented at this scientific forum. The authors’ study is based on diachronic analysis of national cultural consciousness within the framework of an integrated, cognitive-focused approach. Particular attention is given to the study of linguistic world-image as exemplified in fiction, folklore, religious texts, business papers, scholarly works and media texts. Some problems of the research of intercultural communication in the era of multiculturalism and globalization are also examined.
