The issue of the Christian influence on «school rhetoric» is examined in the article using the example of several Ennodius’ dictiones . Three declamations by Ennodius (473/4-521) are analysed. Their form fully responds to the «school canon». Also, it is proved that having saved the traditional form, the declamations consider some issues important for Christian ethics, such as chastity, the strength of family bonds, relationships between fathers and sons. |
