This article examines the activities of the Chancery of the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna during the Russian Revolution. Based on archival materials from the Russian State Historical Archive, we describe the situation of the Chancery after the fall of the monarchy, the relations between its employees and the leadership of the Commissariat of the Provisional Government for the former Ministry of the Court, as well as with the Empress herself. It is concluded that the officials of the Chancery remained faithful to the Empress Mother and expected instructions from her; while the institution itself that had to be abolished under the Provisional Government was eliminated later by the Bolsheviks.
