The article deals with the method for investigation of pen pressure characteristics in a signature by examining the distribution of ink density in strokes. To study specific signatures for assessing the impact of various factors on the distribution of ink density by color representation of different brightness gradations, the Adobe Photoshop program was used. Based on the obtained data, we have determined the influence of various factors on the distribution of ink density in the strokes, as well as the significance of this influence. According to the results of our research, some recommendations are proposed regarding the practical application of this method for examining the writer’s pressure characteristics as reflected in the strokes and for further refinement of the method.
