The paper presents the final stage of the complex linguo-cognitive description of the Russian culture key concept «iskuplenie» («redemption»). The purpose is to verify the concept’s basic cognitive features in native speaker’s language consciousness through a chain associative experiment. The free association technique which is to collect and then to process verbal reactions (from 1 to 5) on the word-stimulus iskuplenie received from 40 respondents with Russian as a native language is applied. The experiment confirmed psychological reality of the 8 recently revealed concept’s cognitive features and allowed us to set their hierarchy in the associative field. Thus, two religious Christian concept’s cognitive features can be noted as highly active: (1) the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ as the restoration of the corrupted human nature and the reconciliation of a man with God; (2) deliverance from the sin of an individual through prayer and righteous living. A significant evaluative potentiality of the concept «iskuplenie» is also revealed: this potential evaluation is ambivalent (redemption can be viewed both as something positive and negative).
