Based on the theoretical analysis and practical work, we present the results of revealing the crossed out and faded details of documents. Some specific features are identified pertaining to the restoration of the contents of crossed out and faded details of documents using traditional methods and techniques based on the use of information and communication technologies. The use of information and communication technologies is characterized by the simplicity of the process, does not require special training for the operator and does not destroy the objects under investigation. All this predetermines the need for their use in forensic practice. The results of applying O.A. Kosygin's and V.F. Finogenov's method "Determining the content of faded requisites of documents" are presented with the aim of restoring not only the faded but also the crossed out details of the documents. Based on the research materials, the possibilities of using information and communication technologies in technical and forensic examination are determined.
