In this article, we present the results of a comparative analysis of J.-J. Rousseau’s and G. Babeuf’s approaches to the issue of the right for resistance. Some specifics features of J.-J. Rousseau’s rationale for indispensability of this institution through the Social Contract theory and the concept of sovereignty of the people’s rule are highlighted and G. Babeuf’s extended interpretation of this category is presented. |
