| This article is concerned with a new set of sources relating to the biography of the outstanding Nizhny Novgorod historian S.I. Arkhangelsky. The sources that are stored in the Central Archive of the Nizhny Novgorod region contain unique information about S.I. Arkhangelsky's ancestors and relatives. We prove that S.I. Arkhangelsky's family belonged to the clerical order. It is also established that the grandfather of S.I. Arkhangelsky has managed to acquire nobility. |
