The aim of this work is to give a historical overview of the penetration of Iranian vocabulary into Slavic languages and of Slavic vocabulary into the languages of the Iranian group. Based on the work of Russian and Iranian researchers, the issues of lexical parallels in Slavic and Iranian languages are considered, and the historical conditions of the Slavic-Iranian linguistic interaction are examined. The authors used an interdisciplinary approach, which makes it possible to study the topic under consideration in the historical, philological and cultural contexts. The result of the work is the analysis of lexical borrowings in various fields of the vocabulary - social, scientific, domestic, military, and also in the field of toponymy and spiritual culture in different historical periods.
