In this paper, the author makes an attempt to reveal some peculiarities in the representation of the fictional character Gaspard Winckler in the works of Georges Perec. The main focus of the study is to determine the role of the character in the author's works and the problem of its transfictional essence. The article analyzes three novels («Le Condotti?re», «W, ou le Souvenir d’enfance», «La Vie mode d’emploi»), in which this hero is represented. The aim of the article is to establish this character's status, and it is achieved by using the theory of possible worlds. It is argued that the case of a transfictinal character in Perec's works is unique, and Gaspard Winckler is the author's multiple (not possessing a single psychotype) alter ego, which varies depending on the literary tasks of the author and the time period.
