The article describes the Ural state-owned piers and saw mills as the most important elements of the transport infrastructure of the Urals in the first half of the 18th century. The activities of the Siberian Ober-Bergamt are analyzed during the period when the piers were transferred from the control of the provincial authorities to the mining administration. The factors affecting the choice of location of water transport infrastructure are shown. As a result of studying the activities of the pier managers, some problems have been identified in the administrative management of the preparation of products from the Ural state-owned plants for transportation.
