The article is focused on the formation and implementation of the Third Reich's foreign policy in relation to Turkey in the spring of 1941. The source base of the article includes German diplomatic documents that were not published in Russia earlier reflecting the process of the development of this course. The main ideas and goals of German diplomacy during the German-Turkish negotiations on the conclusion of a political Treaty are analyzed. The influence of the military and political situation in the Balkans and the Middle East on these negotiations is also considered.
