The article presents a general description, as well as a comparative analysis of a number of human and social phenomena of Russian and Polish phraseological units containing an animalistic component. The analysis is performed taking into account structural, lexical-semantic and quantitative parameters. The phraseological units recorded in Russian and Polish phraseological lexicographic sources are considered on the basis of their lexical and grammatical classification, as well as their correlation with the corresponding phraseological and semantic fields. In turn, a number of microfields are often distinguished within such fields, The results indicate that the Russian and Polish world views partly correspond to each other, however, there are quite a number of cases of either partial or full mismatch of phraseological system interpretations of the same realities and phenomena.
