Preposition repetition with homogenous parts of sentence appears more rarely in Old-Russian bookish texts, than in non-bookish ones. By counting and analyzing cases with preposition repetition in the 17th and 18th centuries, we found that their number gradually decreased. In our opinion, the reasons for this reduction are the vanishing of doubled prepositions with attributes, the influence of speech formulas, and the influence of poetry where preposition repetition was rare. |
