In this paper, the approaches to building Newtonian cognitive integralism are analysed, within which it would be possible to synthesise his scientific, theological and historiographical views. It is shown that without understanding the unity of Newton’s thought, it may be extremely difficult to understand the meaning and purpose of many of his passages. An hypothesis is put forward that an adequate synthesis of the English thinker's scientific and theological ideas can be carried out on the basis of an analysis of the peculiarities of his unorthodox Christian faith.
