The article considers V. Medinsky's novel «The Wall» from the perspective of using Polonisms in this book. The number of borrowings from Polish into Russian has been growing steadily over time, as evidenced by the data of the lexicographical sources quoted by the author. The text of the book contains both lexical borrowings, for which the Polish language served as an intermediary in the transmission of lexemes from Latin, Italian, German, French and Hungarian, and the Polonisms proper. Usage examples of some words (рокош), word forms (светловельможны) and transliterated forms (пся крев, пекло) are examined. They are applied by V. Medinsky in order to add Polish flavor to his novel. The ways of insertion of Polonisms in the text are considered. The process of changing Polonisms` lexical meaning during their adaptation in the Russian language is shown.
