Based on the judicial practice of the application of the procedure for exemption from criminal liability and the imposition of a judicial fine, the article addresses the main contentious issues of the procedure for termination of criminal prosecution in case of imposition of a fine in the course of court proceedings in the Russian criminal process. On the basis of the analysis of criminal and criminal procedure legislation and examples of court practice, proposals are made to amend the criminal and criminal procedure legislation of the Russian Federation in order to improve the efficiency of Russian courts.
