The aim of the paper is to study the role of spatial aspects of representation of political processes of the Roman Empire in Flavius Philostratus’ Life of Apollonius. The material shows that the author uses different narrative modes in describing the travels of Apollonius in different parts of the oikumena - lands of Parthia and India, Rome, provinces, in particular Egypt and Greece. The study complements the conclusions of modern scholars regarding the conceptual role of the specific features of the discourse and narrative techniques used by Flavius Philostratus in describing political events that took place in various parts of the Roman Empire and the far periphery of the Greek and Roman world.
