The article examines the peculiarities of the functioning of terminological vocabulary in the novel «White Clothes» by V. Dudintsev. The relevance of this study is due to the fact that by defining the semantic-functional status of a term in a text of fiction it is possible to show the system of specific lexical tools used by the author, their lexical-grammatical, stylistic and expressive functions in solving the main ideological tasks of a literary work. On the other hand, the issue of the conceptual content of terms that implement their special meaning as units of the non-special sphere of communication in the fiction text is also of interest.
