The paper examines the confrontation between Egypt's military-led regime and the «Muslim Brotherhood» during the period of 2013-2018. We describe the efforts of the regime led by al-Sisi to suppress the Association by means of legal proceedings and police operations and the Association’s attempts to resist the regime by mobilizing its supporters against the regime. The author has analyzed the experience of the «Muslim Brotherhood» protest activity and the results of their ideological searches. An attempt has been made to characterize internal changes in the Association, and to identify the reasons for the split in its ranks that emerged during the discussion about the future existence of the Association.
