Based on the analysis of Russian legislation and materials of official statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the criminological aspects of the current state of migration crime are revealed. The relevance of this topic is due to the fact that the issue of migration today is one of the most important issues in the international community, and migration crime always accompanies any migration process. The aim of this paper was to study in a comprehensive manner the causes and conditions for committing socially dangerous acts prohibited by the criminal law of the Russian Federation, by foreign citizens and stateless persons. As a result of the study, an extensive analysis of the state of the dynamics and crime rate among migrants in the Russian Federation is presented. We also give a criminological portrait of a migrant criminal, including socio-demographic characteristics and distribution by type of crime. Particular attention is paid to the correlation of interethnic criminal groups and migration crime. Some measures to prevent migration crime are proposed.
