| The article considers tautology as a stylistic device. The use of tautology in the process of communication is a rude speech mistake. In a fiction, it obeys the author’s intention, serves to create imagery and affects the reader on an emotional level. An analysis of the tautology in M. Zoshchenko's stories allows us to expand our understanding of tautology from the point of view of its types and functions in a work of fiction. |
