In this article, we examine some new lexical units in the English language - new words having two components - which are considered to be derivatives or compounds by different linguists. The aim of this work is to identify this numerous group and analyze its characteristic elements from morphological and semantic points of view. It should be noted that the number of words in this group almost equals those of derivatives and compounds. So referring these words to one of these groups can influence the productivity of this way of word-building. The lexical units considered as well as compounds of similar structure characterize the tendency to complicating the interaction of different means for coining new words.
