The anthropocentricity of modern linguistics has given rise to new directions which were in turn developed into independent branches with their own object, subject, and research methods: cognitive linguistics, ethnolinguistics, linguoculturology, pragmalinguistics, conceptology etc. The principle that unites these branches is that both the human and the language in various trichotomies are central to them: «language - human - thinking», «language - human - culture», «language - human - people», «language - human - mentality», «language - human - discourse», etc. Representative function of the human factor in language can be performed by units at different levels: lexical-semantic, phraseological, grammatical, etc. In this paper, we attempted to explore deictic elements as the implicitly expressed media in the discourse of the culturally significant information. The deictic function of the pronouns другой/иной , as our study shows, makes it possible to objectify the culturally significant meanings of the Russian mentality, which is manifested in the conceptual dual world distinctive to the Russian people.
