The article deals with topical issues of understanding the essence, grounds and conditions for applying administrative enforcement measures to legal entities-commercial organizations and individual entrepreneurs. The author describes the main features (features) of the application of administrative enforcement measures to business entities. A detailed classification of such measures was carried out, in particular, the following measures were identified: ensuring administrative determination of violations of mandatory requirements; administrative restraint of violations of mandatory requirements; administrative removal of consequences of violations of mandatory requirements; administrative prevention of violations of mandatory requirements; administrative sanctions for violations of mandatory requirements that constitute administrative offenses. A system of principles for the application of administrative and enforcement measures applied to business entities is defined, among which are the following principles: reasonableness, adequacy, proportionality and enforceability of applied measures
