Abstract
In order to solve the problem of speed and quality of inspection of places of pogroms and arsons, sometimes it is necessary in practice to carry out it according to a «shortened» method which excludes the search and description in the protocol of such details of the scene of the incident that are irrelevant in terms of proving the composition of the committed crime. The criticism of such tactical inspection technique in literature is represented by only one and single argument - a detailed quote by professor M.S. Strogovich on guarantees of establishing material truth in criminal cases in a combat situation. The article argues convincingly that a well-known scientist did not write anything against the use of a tactical forensic technique of inspecting the scene of an incident using a «shortened» method for investigating crimes in a combat situation, which is a type of emergency, therefore there is no reason to put him among opponents of such inspection tactics.
