The article analyzes the dynamics of legal attitudes of the population of multi-ethnic territories in the South of Russia in the context of the societal integrity of the macroregion. The empirical basis of the analysis is the results of re-comparative sociological research carried out in 2001, 2010 and 2019 in the Rostov region, Adygea and Kabardino-Balkaria. Research results show that in recent decades, the weak expression of civil motivation of legal behavior of residents of the region is stable. Against this background, the asynchronous dynamics of the behavioral component of the legal culture of various ethnoterritorial groups of the population is fixed. A reduction in the degree of expression of ethnic traditions in the legal behavior of representatives of the Republican segment is not supported by an increase in orientation to the institutions of modern society in the mechanisms of reproduction of legal culture. In these conditions, the content of legal regulations is not yet a sufficient basis for integrating the population of a multi-component macroregion.
