The article discusses the issue of the concept of «literary language» in the scientific and everyday pictures of the world. The author points out the essential features of this term, presented on the material of educational and scientific literature on the history of the Russian literary language, modern Russian language, stylistics and culture of speech, and also reveals the signs formed in the everyday idea of the literary language on the basis of texts from the National Corps of the Russian Language. Thus, the literary language is shown not only as a cultural space for communication in the social Uzus, but also as the basic construction of national self-identification.
