The article discusses the features of semantics and functioning of emotive vocabulary in the publicistic variety of pedagogical discourse (based on the material of the «Teacher's newspaper»). The aim of the work is to characterize the emotive vocabulary in semantic, grammatical, and situational-thematic aspects using a combination of structural and discursive analysis methods. As a result of the research, the main groups of positive and negative emotions that are verbalized in the texts of publications are identified, and the reasons why participants of the pedagogical discourse feel certain emotions are revealed. Such features of the functioning of emotive vocabulary in the publicistic variety of pedagogical discourse as the predominance of positive emotions over negative ones and the predominance of verbal forms of verbalization of emotions over nominal ones are noted.
