The main enemy of human civilization throughout its history has been and remains epidemics, and not natural disasters or wars. The number of deaths from pandemics is nothing compared to the losses in all wars combined. The outbreak of coronavirus infection in China, and then its transition to the stage of a global pandemic, exacerbated the existing contradictions between the countries. Due to its geographical features and low population density, Russia has taken the hit of the COVID-19 epidemics one of the last. During the time that our country had from January to April 2020, the Russian leadership pursued a pragmatic foreign policy, primarily aimed at preventing the penetration of infection into our country and providing assistance to countries affected by COVID-19 both in a bilateral format and in a multilateral field. To protect the safety of Russian citizens abroad, authorities organized special “rescue” flights. In the paper, its authors attempt to analyze the actions of the Russian authorities on the world stage after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in China in early January 2020 to September 2020, and comprehend Russian foreign policy in these conditions through the lens of fundamental documents on foreign policy of the state.
