In order to increase the effectiveness of activities to expose criminals in the framework of judicial proceedings, it is necessary to typify the defendants. The classification approach allows us to develop targeted recommendations (methods, tactical complexes) to support public prosecution. The study of the data on the identity of the defendant is determined by the content of the process of proving the charge in court. In addition, information about the identity of the defendant is essential in the process of forming tactical complexes within the framework of forensic methods of maintaining public prosecution in certain categories of criminal cases. Based on the personal characteristics of the defendant (s) and their position in the case, the prosecutor decides on the choice of the most appropriate algorithms (sequence) of activities in typical situations of maintaining the state prosecution.
