Abstract
The paper gives the results of a study of the personalities of the leading radical Islamic ideologists and leaders in the UK at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries: Anwar al-Awlaki, Omar Bakri Mohammed, Anjem Choudari, Abdullah al-Faisal, Abu Qatada. The aim of the work is to identify the key characteristics of the activities of prominent representatives of the British Muslim Ummah radical part within the specific chronological period. Based on source and literature analysis, a conclusion is made about the scale of the influence of these radical preachers on extremist views of young British Muslims and support for militant Islam in the country. It is noted that, despite the growing incidents related to Islamic radicalism, due to the openness of British society and the traditional prevalence of the system of liberal values, UK Islamic ideologists and leaders of radical associations had enough platforms for discussion, expression and dissemination of their own attitudes and ideas.
