| Abstract |
The paper describes types of conceptual metaphor, revealed in semantic structure of Russian and English proverbs with gender component while using the notion of thematic role of ‘’qualitative’’, offered by one of the authors, which is meant to describe the quality of state or action, represented by the semantics of proverbial predicate and the second actant or circumstant in the proverb’s semantic structure.
