The article deals with the issues of identifying the types of state control and supervision related to the activities of political parties. Special attention to those types of control and supervision that have their own specifics in relation to the activities of political parties is paid. In the course of the analysis of federal laws and by-laws, the shortcomings and problems of legal regulation of the control and supervisory functions performed by the Ministry of Justice of the Rus- sian Federation were identified. Conclusions about the terminological inconsistency of some normative acts that define the basis for monitoring the activities of political parties; about the expediency of adopting administrative regulations on the implementation by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation of control and supervision over the activities of parties; about the need to review the consolidation of certain control powers of election commissions in favor of federal executive bodies performing control and supervisory functions are drawn. It is proposed to strengthen the legal identifi- cation of the types of state control and supervision related to the activities of political parties in the Federal Law «On Political Parties».
