In the Federal Budgetary Science Institution Academician I.N. Blokhina Nizhny Novgorod Scientific Research In- stitute of Epidemiology and Microbiology оn April 26-27, 2021, a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of an honorary citizen of Nizhny Novgorod, an outstanding scientist, public figure, laureate of the USSR State Prize, corresponding member, Academician of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences and the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences I.N. Blokhina was held. The conference discussed interdisciplinary fundamental research in the field of sanitary and epidemiological well-being, including: problems of epidemiology and prevention of infectious diseases, the use of information technologies and predictive modeling systems, modern algorithms for laboratory diagnostics, new approaches to the development of vaccines and the assessment of the quality of immunoprophylaxis. The article deals with the main topical issues of legal regulation in the implementation of modern trends in epidemiological sur- veillance.
