The purpose of the work is to analyze the possibility of using the records of registrars in the production of transport and tracological expertise to verify the reliability of the explanations of the participants in the accident when modeling the development of the accident. In the framework of the research, the method of dynamic modeling of the mechanism of a road accident is used. The results of the research show that from the point of view of validity and objectivity, the transport and tracological examination and the study of the registrar's data are the optimal types of investigation of the circumstances of an accident with the ability to identify and record signs of imitation of traces, staging and provoking an accident for the purpose of insurance fraud. It is concluded that the data from the car record- ers allow you to dynamically track the development of events and compare them with the description, and according to the results of the transport and tracological examination, you can draw conclusions about the compliance of the trace pattern with the mechanism of the development of an accident.
