The article examines some models of manipulative dialogical communication in the Russian native speakers’ speech prac- tice in the context of the theory of speech effect. The research material is the contexts extracted by continuous sampling from the Russian National Corpus. A complex methodology for analyzing dialogic interaction is used, based on communicative- pragmatic and cognitive-discursive approaches. The features of speech realization of the following seven techniques of “lan- guage demagoguery” are analyzed: assertion disguised as a presupposition; effect with the help of speech implicatures; objec- tion disguised as consent; opposition of “visible” and “true” reality; playing on referential ambiguity; the use of a manipulative speech strategy de re instead of a cooperative strategy de dicto ; “magic of a word”.
