The article is carried out in line with the relevant appeal for modern linguistics to the individual author's implemen- tation of the language system in a literary text. The author analyzes M.A. Bulgakov's novel «The Master and Margarita». The purpose of the article is to describe by linguistic means the infernal loci of the artistic space of the novel, considered as the embodiment of one of the main ideas of the novel. The direct subject of the analysis is the linguistic means that represent the motive of infernality in its locative explication.The article shows how a fruitful literary idea of the motivic structure of a work can be filled with linguistic content, which thereby significantly increase its explanatory power. The methodological basis of the article made by the following settings: 1) the literary text allows for a plurality of interpretations; 2) the linguistic tools make it possible to significantly objectify the study of the text; 3) the motivic structure of the novel determines additional hermeneutic capabilities.The main conclusion of the article comes to the following: the linguistic hermeneutics of the motivic structure of a literary text reveals a significant presence of infernality in the Moscow space of the novel «The Master and Margarita».
