This article discusses a new field of stem cell research for Russian medicine. It has been established that the use of regenerative medicine in the field of healthcare significantly prolongs life and qualitatively restores human health without using transplantation of human organs and (or) tissues. Since regenerative medicine is a new science and the legislation does not establish a legal definition, the authors set a goal to investigate questions about the understanding of regenerative medicine, both by physicians and lawyers. The activities and projects aimed at the development of regenerative medicine are analyzed, and a range of normative acts regulating these public relations is established. It is concluded that there are circumstances in this sulfur that require resolution, both from the point of view of medicine and from the point of view of legal regulation.
