The article analyses functioning of gerundial constructions in Russian colloquial speech with the data from National Corpus of Russian. The taxis organization of colloquial Russian by gerunds and gerundial constructions is examined. Based on the analysis of gerundial constructions with conditionality meaning the conclusion is drawn about the influence of written Russian discourses on colloquial Russian. The connection between the usage of gerundial constructions and monologic form of spoken language is observed. Automaticity in the usage of gerundial constructions in the colloquial Russian is conceived as a marker of a speaker‘s high level of communicative proficiency.
