The paper is devoted to the study of the ethnolinguistic geography of the Greek spring rites associated with an amulet from the sun, called ?????? ("March"). Objective: based on the methodology of ethnolinguistic analysis and mapping according to N.I. Tolstoy and A.A. Plotnikova, to analyze ethnolinguistic maps with fixed elements of the studied rite. Analysis of the maps determine the area of existence of the actual ritual term or its local (dialectal) version ( ? ??????, ?? ????'?, ? ?????, ? ??????, ?? ?????????? ) and of other characteristic elements associated with it, for example, the custom of guessing by the March amulet and leaving it on a rose bush or on a tree, which is characteristic of the Balkan tradition in general. Such views are characteristic of the northern Greek area bordering Bulgaria. The custom of tying an amulet in the form of a March thread to babies in order to attract "blush and March sun" to children is specific to the Dodecanese islands of Rhodes and Karpathos. The experience of ethnolinguistic mapping of elements of modern Greek traditional culture seems relevant for identifying cultural and linguistic areas within the “Greek world”, especially in the perspective of comparing them with the corresponding areas within the Balkan linguistic and cultural union.
