| The article is devoted to the role of tzar’s physician R. Areskin in the medical treatment process of tzar Peter the Great with the use of mineral waters in the period between 1711 and 1717. This method of treatment was adopted by R. Areskin from German doctor F. Gofman, who considered mineral waters to be a universal means of medical treatment from all diseases. Having got under the influence of courtier physician, tzar Peter the Great was interested in balneotherapy till his last days of life. |
