The article considers the main characteristics of administrative justice, approaches to its definition; presents the features of administrative justice in the countries of the West and Russia; the powers of administrative justice bodies. An attempt is made to determine the system of administrative justice in Russia and analyze its elements. Also, this institution is considered from the point of view of the implementation of judicial control as a way to ensure the rule of law in public administration.
