He article deals with issues related to elections. At the same time, ensuring the legality of their conduct is related to the legislation in force in the relevant State and its application. Election protection is provided by various regulations, which include the criminal legislation of Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Denmark, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation. A comparative analysis of existing prohibitions and sanctions for their violation has been carried out. The authors made proposals to improve the criminal legislation protecting the elections.
